W-Hour is codename of Warsaw Uprising start hour. Today is 72nd anniversary of Greatest Battle of Polish Home Army in WW2. After a call to arms from Red Army, Polish underground army started uprising on 5PM 1st August 1944.
Unfortunately Stalin ordered to stop attack towards Warsaw. It was political decision to let Germans destroy non-communist resistance before Red Army advance. Despite of owerwhelimg German power, Home Army defended Warsaw City for 63 days and surrendered. It was second to only Stalingrad battle in East Front in WW2 according to German records.
