The P-39N version of the Airacobra was a fighter produced in a large series - 2,095 machines - more than half of which went to the Eastern Front as part of Lend-Lease, where most of the top Soviet aces of various nationalities flew them, including the famous Ukrainian teacher, Ivan Babak. Of course, the US Air Force also used them in large numbers, both for training and in combat in the middle period of the war, in the Pacific and the Mediterranean. Many Cobras N were later transferred to the Allies especially in this theatre of operations, particularly to the French and Italians. In our 40011 P-39N Airacobra 1/48 box, you will find an American shark-mouthed marking from Corsica and two aircraft of the famous aces: a Ukrainian from the Soviet Air Force and a Frenchman.
The featured 1/48 scale P-39N Airacobra model kit is offered for pre-order in promotional bundles of various sizes, from one up to four kits. These can be either Airacobras N alone or Airacobras with Hurricanes 1/48. The larger the set, the greater the discount. Each promotional bundle comes with a set of detail files for you to 3D print yourself on a similar basis - the bigger the promotional bundle, the richer the 3D file set!
3D printable files enhance the boxed model kits wonderfully. 3D printing with light-curing resin allows a level of detail unavailable to plastic injection moulding, especially in small parts and in spatial structures and hollow parts such as barrels and exhaust tubes. We make our files available under a consumer licence for private use, and you can print them on your own printer, a colleague's or a print service company. You may share the prints with a colleague, but you may not sell them, nor may you share the files publicly.
The 1/48 scale P-39N Airacobras purchased in promotional bundles you get along with free 3D files for self-printing. Each model kit comes with a file with details of the cockpit interior (seat with seatbelts, gun butts, levers and knobs) and with three variants of the underbelly rack for the bomb/fuel tank. In the three-kit bundle, you will additionally get an exhaust tubes file, and in the quadruple bundle: exhaust files and cannon and machine gun barrels files!
